About Wakehurst Rugby Club

Wakehurst rugby club  has been run as a local community rugby club in Belrose since 1965, with a great history of commitment to excellence and fun for all ages. We are the closest Rugby Club for players living in Frenchs Forest, Davidson & Belrose and we also have many players/members who choose to join us from a little further away.

We have teams representing the club in all age categories including Minis (U6 to U9), Juniors (U10 to Opens), and Subbies (Suburban) teams and all our coaches have an ARU “Smart Rugby” coaching accreditation.

With strong ties to the local community, we have created an environment where the parents are welcome to come down and get involved with their boys and girls on training nights, or just sit back and watch from the clubhouse with a light refreshment.

We provide excellent ground facilities at the Wakehurst Rugby Park which hosts all our home games. With the luxury of running our own grounds, the oval and facilities are also available for use by other clubs and schools for training sessions and game fixtures.

Each year our season typically commences with free “Try Rugby” sessions and/or social touch games on Friday evenings during January and early February. Training for the season typically commences in mid/late February in preparation for competitions against other clubs between April and September.

Our Club has enjoyed a long and successful history since 1965 and welcomes players of all ages and skill levels to come and play the great game of Rugby Union! Already playing for another Club? Well if you can’t beat us, then join us!
